Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Director of Business Development, Geospatial-Intelligence Systems. The position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nations core defense services and systems. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out critical national security missions supporting intelligence collection, processing and dissemination.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to identify and help acquire new business ventures for GDMS and its customers. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead specific business strategies across the national intelligence enterprise, performing tasks essential to the identification, requirements analysis, and definition of new programs and related technology development
  • Function as key thought leader in the development and execution of the GEOINT business area strategic plan, and develop technical plans and business cases to guide efforts in pursuit of successful contract awards
  • Lead an interdisciplinary team across multiple geographic locations to craft and capture solutions to national systems requirements
  • Responsible for architecting solutions to emerging national systems requirements within the capabilities of the business organization
  • Work closely within the LOB and across the company in the formulation and implementation of the cross-LOB and cross-company strategies, and resource allocation priorities
  • Interact with senior leadership to support higher-level vision, goals, and objectives and nurture an understanding of the missions, relationships, and agencies within the customer community
  • Support the mission and assist the customer in developing new strategies, policy and plans to assist in overall program growth

Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technically related field and a minimum of 15 years of related experience is required, with at least 5 years supervisory and/or lead technical experience. A Master's degree is preferred. Additional years of domain experience may substitute for the formal degree requirement.
  • Minimum 15 years experience providing program leadership on Intelligence Community and defense ISR systems
  • Intelligence community - speficially NGA and NRO - experience required
  • Developing and implementing long range strategic plans for growing programs
  • Capture management experience is preferred but not rrequired

Department of Defense TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
