Full time three year fixed term opportunity for a Trainee Permitting and Licensing Officer to join our client based in Nottinghamshire. |
Experience in minerals, geotechnical or civil engineering
Our client is looking for an individual with ideally some geotechnical/ engineering experience who is seeking to develop their knowledge and skills in resolving the impacts of historical mining activities.
As the Trainee Permitting and Licensing Officer you will support the Managers in assessing and issuing of Permits and licenses on the Authority’s behalf. The team is responsible for granting permits to access or intersect property (coal, mine workings or mine entries) and licensing of the coal mining industry. In the team you will work with internal teams including planners, engineers and information (data) managers and external partners such as developers, landowners and consultants.
In addition you shall ideally have an understanding of mining and mining risk and demonstrate the desire to learn and develop new skills and knowledge. You too shall have strong analytical and report writing skills, as well as good communication skills as you engage with stakeholders. As the Trainee Permitting and Licensing Officer work shall include:
• Working with engineers on assessing proposals for remediating mining features and assessing the risk on development proposals.
• Supporting the development of commercial permitting and planning services for the development industry
• Managing and undertaking licensing work in relation to the coal mining operations.
