This is a new position for someone who has been involved in route surveying work and with civils experience. The applicant will have the opportunity to advance their skills with a company offering excellent development opportunities. The successful applicant will assist the Civils Estimator to complete site feasibility surveys at the tendering stage in order to provide accurate costs for the projects. To achieve this, we estimate that you will spend a degree of lone working out visiting sites and the remainder of the time in the office completing surveys and reporting. The applicant should have the ability to assess and evaluate proposed routes with viable solutions to any issues that may be envisaged. Applicants should be physically fit and prepared to work in all weather conditions as a majority of the role will be outdoors. The applicant will be expected to travel throughout England and Wales and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

As an independent connections provider, typical project values range from £50,000 to £4 Million and the company specialise in new connections of major residential single and dual fuel, industrial and commercial and renewable projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Conduct site feasibility surveys
* Prepare, maintain and complete reports and sketches to clarify the viability of proposed utility routes
* Undertake as-built drawings and setting out positioning with the aid of GPS equipment
* Contribute to problem solving, assess and evaluate outcomes
* Attend meetings with stakeholders


* Utilities, Civils, Highways experience from an operational perspective or similar
* Good analytical and problem solving skills
* Experience / knowledge of the New Roads and Streetworks Act

* Physically fit
* Clean driving license

* Articulate and numerate with good communication skills both written and spoken

* Strong IT skills

* Good observation skills and attention to detail
* Prepared to work in all weather conditions


* Knowledge of site safety regulations
* Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D programs and surveying technology

* Current CSCS
* Work independently and as part of a team
* Geographical knowledge of England and Wales

* Manage time effectively
* Strong IT skills
* Self-motivated with an eye for detail
* Ability to prioritise effectively
* Ability to build relationships

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week
