Morson International is pleased to offer this fantastic role on behalf of our engineering client which is currently seeking to recruit a PLC Software Engineer who will be based predominantly within their Staffordshire office however the individual may be required to travel to client premises on an occasional basis, the position is on a full-time permanent basis.
Candidates should have the following knowledge, expertise and skills:
-Knowledge and commercial expertise of working with PLC-based control systems.
-Knowledge of process control principles.
-Experience of the complete software/systems design lifecycle.
-Knowledge of network / serial communications protocols and hardware.
-A minimum of a HND or Honours Degree in Software Engineering or a related discipline.
-Knowledge of C&I Engineering.
-Knowledge of National Grid design standards.
-Expertise of IE61131-3 programming languages.
-Expertise with the following hardware platforms:
o OPTO22 PAC's
o GE / MTL PAC8000 Controllers
-Master'€™s Degree in Software Engineering or a related discipline.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work as part of an established team. They will have the ability to prioritise own workload and work un-supervised when required to meet project deadlines. You will have good communication skills and a flexible approach to their working practices.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
-The design, documentation, development, testing and commissioning of PLC-based control systems.
-This will cover the complete system development lifecycle from initial design through to customer site acceptance.
-Investigation and rectification of defects at customer'€™s sites.
-Provide support and assistance to other engineering disciplines within the design team.
Location: Stafford/Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire with travel to client premises on an occasional basis
