I am looking for an Application Support Consultant for a market leader in the supply of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software designed for wide range of distribution, retail and supplies networks.|
The Application Support Consultant reports to the Implementation and Support Manager and will be working within the Software Support Department, assisting customers with queries and problems relating to application software, acting essentially in a 1st Line support or 2nd Line support capacity. The department is also involved in the installation of new software and customer training.
You could be talking to a variety of different customers, but will be predominantly focusing on those responsible for the finance / accounting operations at the end user customer so knowing your way around spreadsheets and accounts ledgers would be an advantage.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide high quality, effective customer support to existing customers and newly acquired customers in the implementation stage.
This role involves a rotating weekly shift pattern of 8.00am - 16.30 and 9.30 - 18.00 and provision of out of hours support
This role will be based in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear

For the Application Support Consultant role you need:
• Previous experience in a customer-focused, service oriented
• Good understanding of accounts to trial balance
• To effectively and efficiently handle incoming calls from clients using
the call logging system and taking the appropriate action.
• Able to deal with complaints and call escalation requests in the correct
• Be able to identify calls that are not support related, such as sales calls,
system changes request etc.
• Exceptional communication skills both written and oral and the
confidence to speak to all level of end users including at Director Level.
The ideal knowledge and experience for Application Support Consultant
• Extensive experience working in a customer focused role, ideally
software support at 1st Line or 2nd Line
• Good knowledge of accounting principles - to trail balance
• Relevant Business Studies, IT Qualification or AAT, Degree, BTEC, HND
would be useful
• Good investigation skills to tackle unfamiliar problems. Ability to draw
upon previous experience within the role
• Systematic and logical approach to problem solving
Salary up to £21000
