CAD Draughts Person / Design Engineer (Mechanical) |
£25,000 Per annum + Contributory Pension after probation period.
CAD Draughts Person required for a mechanical role specialising on aerospace, oil and gas and aeronautical design and development projects with potential of progression to project lead positions in near future.
Full training and development will be on offer to the right individual including FEA, Materials engineering and stress Analysis.
The role will be suited to mechanically biased CAD engineers with strong 3D design package knowledge and usage. You will be qualified to degree level ideally but those with HNC level and above combined with commercial experience will be considered.
The designs will have to be proven to be fit for purpose and comply with customer specifications. This may require the individual to carry out hand calculations and use of built in CAD package FEA during the design phase of a project. The designs are likely to also require external FEA to be completed in order to determine failure points, product life and vibration analysis etc, therefore the individual must be comfortable in liaising with external contractors and demonstrate and understanding of Materials, FEA and Stress Analysis.
Design, develop and engineer high quality models using 3D and 2D CAD tools.
Produce CAD designs that meet targets for feasibility, performance, costs, quality, safety, legislation and timing.
Interact with customers, subcontractors and manufacturing department to obtain critical design information necessary to complete project within intended time frame.
Develop and prepare engineering drawings, plans, diagrams or layouts from sketches engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
Attend design / conference call meetings as and when required.
Ensuring drawings meet project specifications.
Mechanical CAD draughtsman with 3D design package experience
Minimum of 2 years commercial experience
Minimum HNC preferably degree level mechanical engineering qualification.
Hold a full UK driving licence
Live within a commutable distance of Bangor
Experience of design projects for aeronautical, oil and gas or nuclear projects
Working knowledge of FEA, Materials engineering, Stress Analysis
