Position: Quality Manager |
Salary: Circa £53k + benefits including company car
My client based in Hertfordshire, Design & manufacture of various components for international water & gas markets. They are looking for a Quality Manager to join there well established organisation to report to the Group Quality Manager, while leading the Quality Team on site and be responsible for quality assurance, the development of quality control and to support process improvement, and supplier development within the business
Responsibilities of the Quality Manager:
Managing the Quality Assurance Team to deliver the strategic objectives for the site.
To ensure that the quality processes are developed, deployed, maintained and followed on site.
To support the operations team to develop the internal manufacturing processes
To manage the external and internal auditing programme,
Meet with customers to discuss quality issues and requirements.
Ensure that new product introduction is carried out in line with the introduction plan.
New products that are introduced in to the supply chain conform to specification.
Quality Assured source with known process controls and capability.
Qualifications/Experience of the Quality Manager:
Experienced and qualified mechanical engineer ideally to HNC / Degree level
Experience in a Quality Management role in a manufacturing environment.
Working within a first tier or OEM automotive or aerospace environment.
Working to ISO9001 and TS16949.
Familiar with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and tools such as process mapping, Design and Process FMEA, and producing process control plans and standard operating procedures.
Experience in the application of statistical techniques, carrying out machine and process capability studies and introducing S.P.C.
Experienced in applying a structured approach to problem solving (8D), and the use of quality tools to identify root causes and effective CAPA.
An understanding of material specifications
metrology and inspection techniques.
Understanding of the 'Pressure Equipment Directive' (PED).
Understanding of water industry approvals (WRAS and DVGW).
Familiar with Lean Manufacturing
Introduction Value stream mapping
Experience of introducing and maintaining 5S.
Experience of training others.
Qualification to HNC standard in Quality and membership of the CQI is also desirable.
