The role of the Contract Review Engineer working in the technical contract review function plays a key role in the correct processing and release of orders into manufacturing site. Technically demanding, requiring a sound understanding of a wide variety of Aerospace specifications covering metal forming, heat treatment and other Nadcap designated "special processes" used throughout my clients' manufacturing operation. Using the business management software (EFACS), raise and maintain manufacturing routes in line with quoted methods and customer technical requirements. Raise and maintain Bill of Materials and stock extended descriptions. Support Engineering change requests and ensure System Compliance.

Processes used
• Review of technical aspects within contracts, orders drawing and other documents supplied by customer. Integrate customer requirements and standard process and procedures to produce part specific methods of manufacture.
• Application of customer driven approval methodology FPA, BPF, FMMDS (RR), FCF (Safran), CNF (Airbus), D6-1276 (Boeing), VSE /GT7350 (GE). AS9102 FAIR and periodic re-qualification
• Integration of in house process improvement and development initiatives, Engineering change request, Stock change request

Contract Review Engineer
Scope and Responsibilities
• Perform Technical contract review on received orders to confirm that my client comply with customers contractual requirements.
• Generate manufacturing methods for new projects in line with customer technical requirements and internal cost standards.
• Modify existing methods to support Material or process changes.
• Generate raw material stock extended descriptions in line with customer technical requirements and internal quality standards.
• Update methods using their Management control system (EFACS) in line with change requests from customer or internal Engineering Change Request (ECR).
• Support New Product Introduction process.
• Create Bills of materials for new or changed product and process material stock input changes.

Job Description
• Support and manage the customer specific approval documents.
• Support technical estimation team in creating new estimates.
• Raise customer specific change request documents (FPA, CNF, and FCF etc.) for new or existing product requiring changes.
• Confirm specification issue control between the companies' and customer documentation.
• Revise EFACS to reflect changes in material, internal or sub contracted operation detail.
• Communicate effectively within the team and internal and external customers.
• Stamp/endorse documentation as required to reflect any special requirements e.g. Fair stamps, Engineering, Laboratory attention.
• Participate in cross functional reviews to advance order fulfilment.

• Participate in risk assessment and "near miss" risk mitigation activities

• Control method of manufacture status. Prevent non-compliant methods from being issued for manufacture
• Flow down quality and technical information provided by customer into part specific methods of manufacture
• Incorporate current Quality Instruction, SOP, care point data into methods to enhance process capability
• Work in tandem with conformance Engineering to incorporate process improvement into existing methods
• Ensure specification updates are incorporated into existing methods of manufacture at point of review.

Contract Review Engineer
• Support procurement and planning departments to minimise back log and delays in issue of material to shop floor
• Actively manage Engineering change request to minimise delays in production
• Liaise with special process, Laboratory and conformance to deliver cost effective methods of manufacture

• Liaise with Finance and Business Development teams to ensure up to date costing standards are built into the business management system
• Work with purchasing to endeavour that the most cost effective, customer approved raw material sources are sought
• Where prior customer approval is required provide first point of contact for change with customer

• Demonstrate proactive team work to support Contract review colleagues
• Maintain high standards of written and verbal communications between internal and external customers
• Work in compliance with all Company policies and procedures

Experience and Qualifications
• Ability to use Efacs or similar software system to interrogate order related and other information to progress and formulate methods of manufacture, facilitate route card document production
• Able to use all Microsoft packages i.e. Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
• Knowledge of Aerospace Forge processes and methods
• Sound appreciation of Aerospace material and process related specifications
• Material or manufacturing engineering back ground
• Forging or hot metal forming back ground/appreciation
• Engineering degree/HNC/time served experience
• Understanding of AS9100 and Aerospace prime supplier requirements
• Demonstrable Quality experience
