Specification of Components / Creation of FDS
Part of a global group of companies this former family owned business design and manufacture bespoke machinery used in the power generation and marine industries. Providing back up power systems and other ancillary equipment they have recently signed an agreement with one of the worlds' largest power generation firms to provide critical components and as a result turnover is set to double in the next three years. As a result they are looking for contractors who are happy to commit themselves for the long term.
What the role will involve:
Working on a project which is near completion the initial part of the role will involve checking a variety of documentation including the functional design specification (FDS), engineering drawings (schematics, single line diagrams etc) - making sure they are correct and making any required modifications.
Working on some pre-design work for a new project - looking at specification of creation of a full FDS, specification of components etc.
There is also some Siemens S7 PLC coding to be done - if you have experience in Siemens then it is an advantage, but not essential.
This role is roughly a 50/50 hardware, software split.
