Who we are looking for
We are looking for a Maintenance Manager with a strong Technical ability and background. It doesn't necessarily matter if you are multi-skilled, mechanical or electrical, but you should have worked for 3-5 years in a Management role, supervising electrical and mechanical engineers. Not only would you personally mentor your team, but you should be able to identify areas of training and further development in your team and action on or off site training to up skill your team. The successful candidate will have to be able to drive change management and make improvement to both maintenance and production. You will be able to implement and manage new systems such as computerised maintenance systems to drive PPM, CI and TPM. This also means that you should possess excellent administrative, computer, communicational and organisational skills. You should be financially astute as you will be controlling a budget a share responsibility in the sites costs. We are looking for a manager with an up to date knowledge on legislation and regulations, and a big emphasise on health and safety. Experience in working within a Heavy Engineering or Heavy Manufacturing environment would be an advantage but is not essential
We are looking for a manager with a strong character, discipline, excellent people skills and an excellent motivator. You should have the technical ability, but be able to coach and drive your results through your engineering team, rather than being 'hands on' your self. You should be an inspired leader, who creates camaraderie throughout your workforce.
As the Maintenance Manager you will be solely responsible for a tightly knit team of approximately 8 multi skilled engineers. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the engineering department and co-ordinate with operation and production management over proposed work and improvement. You will be prioritising workloads, ensuring the team are well equipped and have spares for breakdowns as well as implementing and managing a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS). My Client is looking for someone who would be able to implement Total Planned Maintenance (TPM) and Continuous Improvement project work. You will be responsible for stores and spares and control a large budget. You will be working closely to the engineers to help their development using up-skilling techniques and methods, create a matrix to understand areas of further development and be able to provide technical information and solutions.
My Client is a UK leading manufacturing firm, and is part of a large international group of companies. Working for them will give you ample opportunity to develop and progress on site, as well as open avenues for you across and outside of the UK. They offer an excellent package and a challenging, yet rewarding work atmosphere
