SAP Engineer

Salary: £22 - £24 per hour

Fixed term for 3 months

Location: Middle East

Blucoal are looking for a SAP Engineer for a 3 month fixed term contract in the United Arab Emirates. The candidate must have experience of working on power systems in the Middle East.

• Provide technical solutions and direction to operational staff and clients
• Ensure planned works are fully prepared prior to commencement including materials gathered and client liaison
• Ensure planned works are fully prepared prior to commencement including subcontractor liaison
• Liaise with clients to ensure works are communicated, requirements are met and feedback any adjustments
• Deliver team briefs daily, communicating all aspects of works, ensuring all staff in your charge understand the briefing
• Plan, manage and oversee successful and efficient execution of works
• Ensure all works are carried out in a safe, correct and cost effective manner as required by the client and company
• Ensure Toolbox Talks are delivered and on-site safety assessments are undertaken and briefed to the working party
• Collate, produce & deliver to Head Office all necessary reports, records, certificates & other info in a timely manner
• Ensure any deviation from Method Statement is clearly communicated to the relevant stakeholders
• Ensure the effective management of all suppliers, subcontractors and materials
• Comply with company PO process and ensure PO's are allocated the relevant job number
• Ensure job files are updated on the server and within the JMS incorporating all relevant information
• Undertake & manage all electrical engineering works specific to project / site / client including but not limited to: Maintenance / Commissioning / Testing / Switching / Fault Diagnostics / Installations

• Undertake site surveys using survey sheets, gaining all relevant information and visuals to pass onto Estimations

• Manage staff performance and behaviour on-site, following the company's disciplinary procedure where necessary
• Assist in staff development, identifying specific training needs and undertaking regular assessment
• Mentoring assigned staff member, ensuring regular assessments, reviews and guidance regarding development
• Adhere to and abide by Electrical Safety Rules, ensuring staff compliance
• Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward service excellence
• Attend and successfully complete any identified training courses
• Available for call out duty when required


• Issue and Cancel Permit to Work and Sanction for Test, Establish a Zone of Work, Proving Dead at the Point of Work
• Receive a Sanction for Test for Identification and Spiking Cables, Precautions for Damaged and Unidentified Cables (desirable)
• SAP2 certificate (desirable)
• IOSH Managing Safely
• First Aid
• Testing
• Installations
• Switching
• Substation Entry Awareness
• Computer literate / use of Microsoft & Apple packages
