Commissioning Engineer required for a global organisation who specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of fully automated warehousing solutions.|
This is a developing role, where with the backing of controls engineers you will be required to commission and support existing operational projects, working on various materials handling solutions within constraints of pan-EU projects. You will be expected to provide a firm link of consistency between various project and customer service teams as projects move through their levels of completion.
The Commissioning Engineer will be expected to carry out a number of pre-site objectives including preparation of configuration files, parameter and software for PLC's, Inverter, SCADA systems etc. You will also be required to prepare all test documentation and complete Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Whilst on site you will then be expected to complete installation on smaller projects and commission controllers, networks and field devices into a complete control system. Following test procurers, you will also verify basic functionality of control software to be able to run conveyors, sorters etc.
This position is targeted towards those who wish to develop a solid understanding of warehousing control systems with the desire to kick start a career in controls. The position can be home or office based in Oxfordshire, with approximately 60% site based travel required.
Desired Skills & Experience
* Background and experience in electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Controls Engineering
* Educated to a minimum ONC level in electrical discipline
* Previous use of CAD tools
* Ability to work under minimum supervision
* Excellent client, customer and colleague communication skills
