Drive Systems Engineer|

Perpetual Partnerships are working with a leading UK control & automation systems integrator who prides themselves on using the latest automation technologies to deliver best in class solutions. Many Blue Chip have benefited from their experience with projects ranging from £5,000 to £2million +. With a positive growth plan in place, our client is also potentially looking to set up new satellite offices across the UK.
Perpetual Engineering Partnerships are working to add a Drive Systems Engineer who will support the existing team working on high value projects within a variety of manufacturing industries.
The role will comprise of handling a number of high value projects from concept to completion. This will begin with the technical development of project activities followed by technical leadership of the project. You must be able to understand the project lifecycle which will include the development of design documentation, configuration of PLCs, SCADA, HMI, and then testing and commissioning.
* Hands on role - hardware development primarily on drives - AC/DC.
* Full development of process drive lines - liaising with software engineers.
* Direct liaison with customers.
* Some support at test and commissioning NA & Qualifications
Successful candidates will need to be able to specify, build and programme complete process line (from likes of steel, paper, slitting, tension lines, fibre handling) drive systems.
Candidates should have:
* Electrical/ Automation Degree or similar.
* 3 years + control system design experience.
* 3 years + Siemens/Rockwell/ SCADA software development experience.
Experience with the following would be desirable:
Variable Speed Drives: AC, DC and Servo, Siemens, ABB, Rockwell, Control Techniques, SSD
PLC: Siemens S7, Rockwell Controllogix,
SCADA: Siemens Win CC, Rockwell RS View, iFix, Intouch
Fieldbus: Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus
