PMST Leader - Cold Cure Skin|
To lead the design, development and release of Body Structures components and assemblies, including closures, with the minimum of supervision. The successful candidate will manage the product cycle for future vehicle platforms from pre through to Job 1 +90 days.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Run PMST teams to achieve multi-functional compatibility of design.
Manage suppliers through writing of Engineering Statement of Work (ESOW), manage the design to Red book financial targets and ensure timely delivery of pre-production parts.
Manage CAD designers' workload.
Be required to interrogate the design within Teamcenter Visualization Mockup.
Understand engineering performance target setting and measurement.
Be able to set design briefs.
Be able to direct the design to ensure compatibility with performance targets (before physical/off-tool parts are available) & deliver program objective.
Managing system delivery through AMPCS framework and body engineering Failure Mode Avoidance process.
Monitoring and updating of components through the ECMS change management system.
Releasing of finished designs through ERN releasing system.
Review and presentation of design concepts through Vis-Mockup or other media.
The successful candidate will be able to take a system from pre studies through target definition, supplier selection, engineering development, FDJ (Final Data Judgement) and up to Job 1 + 90 days.
The job holder should have experience of designing mixed material solutions for body structures, doors and other closure systems. Knowledge of aluminium processes and joining techniques would be beneficial.
Qualifications & Experience
Educated to degree level or equivalent within an engineering related discipline.
Extensive experience in component design.
Ability to sketch to convey design ideas.
Experience of TCE (Teamcentre Engineering) and Visualization Mockup.
Knowledge of components within the body structure (including closures) and their function.
Working knowledge of component manufacturing tooling requirements and lead times, ideally including those used in the manufacture of cast, extruded and sheet aluminium components.
The ideal candidate will be a focused, highly motivated, results orientated individual who works well under pressure and can work to a given deadline.
Daily interaction with the lead Principal Engineer for the vehicle programme.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
