My client is currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Birmingham to join an international infrastructure and business services Group. The company is currently going through a huge growth phase and planning to expand rapidly over the next few years.
The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be joining a busy team in the West Midlands and he/she will be a key part of the team providing professional advice in the field of Geotechnical engineering and also ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently and within budgets according to the clients specifications. You will also be required to focus analytical skills and reporting for geotechnical design works including slope stability, foundations, embedded retaining structures and ground improvements.
To be considered for this role of Geotechnical Engineer in Birmingham you will have previously worked in Geotechnical design project teams within a business environment and you will be expected to have demonstrable experience in the delivery of geotechnical projects and reports to a high technical level with a working knowledge of UK design codes, standards and specifications. Familiarity in the use of geotechnical software will be necessary combined with experience of geotechnical design in the Highways or Rail infrastructure sectors, including foundation design.
* Ideally a first degree in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering
* Chartered Professional status or be actively working towards this with a relevant professional institution
* knowledge of UK design codes (including EC7 Part 1, and UK annexes),
The Geotechnical Engineer will receive a competitive remuneration package that reflects their experience and background, and although based in Birmingham will have the opportunity to travel both in the UK and overseas from time to time. Longer term site or overseas assignments may be available
