WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff is seeking a hands-on Senior Project Manager to market and lead a variety of rail and transit engineering and planning projects. The candidate will become a member of our growing rail and transit group in the California, and will work throughout the region with a focus on Southern California. This is an opportunity to lead a variety of railroad and transit projects and tasks, including feasibility studies, preliminary and final engineering, program management, and construction oversight.

The right candidate has exceptional client relationship and staff leadership skills, and demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in managing and directing rail/transit planning and engineering projects. This self-starter will work in concert with Area Managers in California to achieve the firm's overall financial and market success. The candidate must be capable of applying diversified knowledge of standard engineering/planning and rail/transit industry-specific principles and practices. Candidate must have experience with intercity, commuter, and/or freight railroads, and be capable of making decisions on significant engineering problems and issues.

Major Duties :
• Manage rail and transit engineering projects
• Manage staff and activities for a project of significant size and complexity
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships
• Lead proposals and pursuits
• Manage tasks as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Minimum 17 years of railroad and/or transit industry engineering design and planning experience
• California PE license or the ability to obtain same through reciprocity
• Demonstrated verbal/oral skills
• Strong technical writing ability
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
• Experience working with regional transportation, transit or rail agencies
• Ability to analyze situations and data accurately, lead the development of effective solutions and strategies for planning, environmental, engineering, technical and logistical challenges for the delivery of the rail/transit projects
• Familiarity with state and local multimodal transportation systems within California
• Preference will be given to local applicants with recent, prior experience working on major projects for the local and state transportation agencies within California
• Familiarity with project delivery per FTA New Starts Program

Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering with at least 10 years of related experience required.
• Ability to work in this country immediately required.
