Overview of role:

Leading and coordinating the multi-disciplined specialists from across to produce technically brilliant design solutions for large complex construction projects will be everyday activities for the Principal Architect. Out Client are recognized as a market leader in the use of BIM and Analysis Software to produce intelligent Digital Assets that our Clients can utilize for the lifecycle of the project and the Principal Architect will be adept at explaining the benefits and managing the production of these deliverables, placing them at the forefront of the industry.


The Principal Architect will attract great people to work with them to develop a strong, profitable and sustainable teams. Team members will be inspired and motivated by working with people who recognize the benefit that personally investing in the professional development of junior staff brings to themselves, their team and the company’s reputation.


Responsibilities include:

Key Account Management:
Produce and develop Key Account Plans, taking a proactive role in building strong Client relationships and networks, from which a sustainable pipeline of opportunities can be identified.

New Opportunities:

Seek opportunities to expand Out Client’s services and penetration within client organisations.

Project Budget Control:

Proactively oversee the delivery of projects being managed by Senior Engineers within your team, providing mentoring and guidance on methods of delivery to achieve time and budget targets and ways to manage risks and improve client satisfaction.


Skills / Competencies / Experience:
• Qualified to either Degree level (preferably Grade 2:1 or above) in a relevant discipline with 10-years relevant experience.
• Chartered Member of a relevant professional institution.
• Trained in PRINCE2 / APMP (or similar)
• IOSH Managing Safely and current CSCS Card.
• Be capable of working on their own initiative, without supervision and have the ability to deputise for their Line Manager.
• Have proven ability to pursue and develop business opportunities
• Be able to work in close collaboration with team members of other disciplines and have an appreciation of their role
• Have in-depth knowledge of relevant Design Standards and Legislation
• Maintain awareness of all relevant technologies and innovations.
• Have the ability to make site decisions
• Have a high attention to detail and ability to instill standards of pride and excellence in their team
• Have good organization and prioritizing skills
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to manage resources effectively and efficiently, with strong skills in developing staff.
• Demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm
• Familiarity with relevant software packages such as Multi-suite, TEDDS, MS Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Info-works etc.
