Building Engineering
We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. Our building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades and seismic design. Job Summary
This is a great opportunity based in a small but friendly team working on a diverse range of complex building projects in a 2 i/c role to the Associate Director - Electrical and presents a great career opportunity for someone organised and ambitious seeking the next step in their career.

Day to day you will be pivotal in the delivery and managing of building services projects from start to finish primarily responsible for the electrical services design and construction monitoring including:

  • Design of electrical building services including (LV) distribution, power and lighting, lightning protection, communications, IT infrastructure and security systems.
  • Managing client relationships and expectations throughout project lifecycles.
  • Project management: Maximising profitability of projects, monitoring against budget, reacting and anticipating potential problems and communicating in line with client expectations
  • Demonstrating technical expertise, providing in depth knowledge and leadership whilst proactively coaching and developing more junior team members.

You will be involved on a range of projects within our Building Engineering team requiring the ability to work autonomously within a team carrying out electrical designs. Whilst your initial focus will be leading electrical design elements, the opportunity exists for this to expand into management of multi-discipline design teams on a range of complex projects. You will be exposed to a wide variety of technically complex and challenging projects requiring a sound first principles understanding and the ability to think outside the square.

Minimum Requirements
You will likely have gained consultancy experience along the way and be seeking the opportunity to take on more responsibility to further develop your career. With at least 8 or more years' experience, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Degree qualified in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Electrical building services design and construction monitoring experience.
  • Experience of successfully managing projects.
  • A strong team player relating well to colleagues at all levels.
  • A natural networker able to develop and build client relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, at technical and commercial level with all levels of staff, clients and design partners (written and verbal).
  • Ability to be self-motivated and have enthusiasm for technical excellence.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Chartered Professional Engineer registration would be advantageous.
  • Experience with 11Kv would be useful.
