My client is currently undertaking the largest infrasture in the UK at the moment. They are currenly looking for an Enterprise Risk Professional to Support the development and implementation of a proactive approach to enterprise risk management and scenario planning across the programme of work. |
ERM Programme Risk Manager reports to Head of ERM in the enterprise risk management function, within the programme and strategy directorate.
The enterprise risk management function is responsible for establishing the overall principles for the companies approach to corporate risk management. This includes developing the procedures to provide a culture that supports good practice in the identification, evaluation and effective management of corporate risks, and the development of an environment across the business that supports risk management as an integrated part of the organisationâ€™s approach to decision making activities.
Underpinning these policies and procedures, the enterprise risk management function will own risk management tools, reporting, education, training and awareness, and building maturity, by embedding the culture of risk awareness across the programme.
The enterprise risk management team develops and maintain the risk management strategy, toolset and supporting procedures for the management of risk. This includes the development and ownership of the risk management database that will be used for the management of risks across the programme and support the delegation and escalation of risks.
The enterprise risk management team develops the structure that allows directors and their heads of departments to maintain and review their own directorate risks, identify mitigation measures and where risks are significant escalate to the programme risk register for review and action.
The enterprise risk team is responsible for reporting on significant risks and ensuring that risks are escalated to the Board, Audit and risk management committee, and the sponsor for action at the appropriate level.
The enterprise risk team provides support and guidance across the company with regards to the management of risks. This includes liaison with risk owners across the directorates to ensure that they are managed in an effective and consistent manner. They also liaise with the Sponsor where risks are communicated outside the company.
Support the creation of a culture of risk-based decision making in order to enable business objectives to be delivered most effectively
Support the Head of ERM in the development of an enterprise risk management framework, policy, process and procedures (collectively referred to as the ERM system), and its implementation across business
Ensure enterprise risks are identified and managed within defined areas of responsibility
Contribute to the communication of a holistic view of business risk, working with all key stakeholders to understand and articulate the interrelationships
Lead and support the facilitation of risk workshops and assist risk champions in functions or departments to undertake risk reviews and report on risk exposure
Conduct reviews of risk documentation prepared by phases or departments.
Undertake business-wide internal ERM maturity assessments and ERM framework benchmark studies against recognised good practice to ensure and demonstrate leading practice
Establish and lead external research projects to understand global ERM best practices, framing ideas and opportunities to be formally considered for inclusion in the ERM programme
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
Proven experience of implementing risk management across a major and growing organisation with multiple stakeholders
Knowledge of risk management activities, tools and techniques e.g. quantitative and qualitative
Knowledge and expertise of corporate governance, internal controls, risk management frameworks and policies, risk taxonomies, corporate risk management practices, and the function of audit committees
Knowledge of good practice in programme risk and ERM
Educated to degree standard or equivalent experience
Demonstrable team working experience
Professional risk management qualifications or equivalent
Good interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills
Ability to work in a collaborative, cooperative and supportive manner as a team member, effectively contributing to the teamâ€™s objectives and obligations
