Our valued and well respected client is seeking an IT Support Engineer / Manager to join their growing business. This is a hands-on IT service role, providing technical support covering a range of products, including both Voice and Data. This involves working with staff via telephone, email and in person, providing help and advice on faults and any other technical queries they may have. The position would be ideal for people who enjoy solving problems using a methodical and logical approach working within a similar technical role. You will have full ownership of issues logged and will work on them until a resolution is found. Responsibilities include:

Responsible for offering technical IT assistance
Responsible for monitoring and responding to emails company wide
Ensure company's equipment/software is installed and maintained to appropriate standards
Ensure incident information is recorded accurately
Ensure server backups are completed regularly and check
Perform fault diagnosis and rectification on equipment, servers and networks
Set up equipment, email addresses, log-ins etc. for new employees
Work as 1st and 2nd line support within in the company, escalating to external IT support if required
Assisting external IT support to remote access company systems.
1st, 2nd, 3rd line support
Support company Telephone system which includes desk and cordless phones using the Unify Openscape system.
Responsible for the daily running and support of Windows server 2008/12 r2 servers.
Look after the company WSUS/Group Policy and Active Directory as well as Azure AD for office 365 onboarding
Responsible for daily running and support of an SQL server which runs our Sage 200 Manufacturing system

You will have:

Excellent customer service skills and orientation
Ability to work in a busy office and production environment, offering a good knowledge of general IT helpdesk operations
Experience of managing external remote assistance
Strong fault diagnosis and a good understanding of Microsoft operating systems and applications including Microsoft office, anti-virus and backup support
Relevant experience of managing, maintaining and supporting peripheral equipment including routers, switches and hubs etc. Preferably Cisco Meraki Cloud & Netgear equipment
Knowledge/experience of peripheral equipment including printers, servers, desktops and laptops
Will have exceptional problem solving abilities, excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Intermediate+ knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Office 365 cloud based email
Database Administration Skills - This includes support for our client's time & attendance system
VB Scripting skills would be beneficial
