Title: PC Support

Location: Milton Keynes (West)

Duration: Rolling Contract

Start: ASAP

Rate: Open to negotiation depending on experience.

Position Objective

-To provide the company with robust and 'user friendly' systems, service and support.

-On a continuous basis to ensure that the business stays abreast of and utilises where appropriate the latest relevant innovations and enhancements - software, hardware, practices and procedures.

-To provide a service to all Location and Division staff with respect to IT, which will be both professional, and to the highest standards.

Nature and Scope

- This role is pivotal to the companies development of lean enterprise. The function closely and dynamically interfaces with all of the key business disciplines at the location along with all of its business partners. Key role requirements are:

Key Responsibilities of Position

•Identifying and communicating with a wide spectrum of (user) requirements, perspectives and levels of understanding.

•Ensure that PC based systems are developed/controlled such that internal/business controls and policies are maintained.

•Provide technical guidance to the location on PC applications and development aspects of IT methodologies & topologies e.g. Lotus Notes Development, CAD, CIM, EDI, E-commerce, Internet, Lotus Notes Email, etc.

•Review, recommend and support the development of 'best practice' IT strategies for the department.

•Provide technical support to all users at the company and as appropriate to other Divisional users.

•Provide adequate training for all users and works closely with the users to assure systems meet their needs.

•Support the implementation of the PC strategy for the Division.

•Implement cost effective solutions, for a wide variety of communications to include all electronic facilities/equipment, software, hardware equipment.

•Provide technical support and guidance to the department in achieving the IT targets of the Division.

This position is fairly structured and your daily workload will be dictated to you by the central IT department in Geneva. For this reason, it would ideally suit a recent graduate or an individual who has some proven basic IT Support experience, but is still looking to develop their career further.
