Are you an experienced Commercial Electrician/Electrical Field Engineer?

Our client, a smart managed building services company, is currently recruiting for Field Engineers to install and commission their proprietary building management system and smart metering, and to carry out general commercial electrical upgrades/retro-fits.

* Starting salary circa £28-32k with realistic OTE of £40k+ per year - including salary, allowances, overtime, call outs etc

* Core hours 08.30 to 17:00 Mon-Fri (40hrs flexible)

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

* Commercial electrical installation of controls and monitoring equipment (proprietary building management system and smart metering/sub metering) as part of Regional and National roll-outs programmes.
* Programming building controls and sub metering installations utilising provided software (NB full training given)
* Installation of lighting upgrades and associated controls
* General commercial electrical upgrades and re-fits
* Manage others onsite including sub-contract labour where required
* Carry out surveys of clients sites and produce reports
* Work with, produce and amend Schematics and drawings
* Complete fault finding and repair of commercial electrical installations
* Sign off works carried out including NICEIC certification where required
* Reactive call outs and maintenance of installed equipment in the field
* Work within companies policies, risk assessments and method statements
* Develop role as division expands - contributing to company growth and developing regional coverage

The Candidate

To be successful you will have:

* Relevant certifications to qualify you as a competent person:

* 17th Edition
* JIB Skills Card (Electrician or Approved Electrician)
* NVQ Level 3 (Electrical)
* C&G Parts 1 & 2 / AM1/AM2 (or equivalent qualification)

* Ability to inspect and test your own work and produce applicable NICEIC certification (Preferably C&G 2394 / 2395 qualified)
* Relevant experience of working with national clients in commercial sectors such as retail, rail, fast food, office and logistics.
* 3+ years minimum commercial / industrial electrical experience (post apprenticeship/training), with exposure to work such as:

* Building controls / automation
* Commercial lighting installations
* Smart metering - sub meters
* Intruder/fire alarms
* Retro-fits/upgrades

* Innovative - good problem solver
* Customer focused, confident in their skills and communication
* First Aid at Work, IPAF (advantageous)
* Good IT literacy (including MS Office/Web browser)
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Flexibility regarding work hours, along with willingness to provide call-out cover (on rota), and work regionally and nationally as required.
* Desire to develop your knowledge and experience in a company with genuine long term career progression potential.
