Senior Asset Manager - Power Transmission|
£65,000 (DOE) + London weighting + generous pension + bonus + excellent benefits.
Are you a Chartered Electrical/Mechanical Engineer with experience of asset management gained within the power transmission/generation industry? This small but established investment business is looking to recruit a Senior Asset Manager to support its growing transmission asset register currently in access of £3bn. As a valued member of a small investment business you will report into an experienced Technical Director, you will give proactive advice to management, mentor & train and act as a subject matter expert within a dynamic growing business. An interesting aspect of this role will be using your industry experience to influence new investment decisions but also to further develop your own knowledge of project management, project finance, contract negotiation and contract law.
As Senior Asset Manager you will have substantial industry, regulatory and engineering asset management experience and take responsibility for the life cycle management of the company's extensive transmission assets. This business specialises in undersea electricity power transmission in Europe; they operate and maintain cables and infrastructure that connect offshore wind plants to onshore power grids.
This role forms part of the senior management team and will include the development of management systems that cover all new networks and delivery of business objectives over the full life cycle of the asset. In addition to industry and regulatory knowledge you need the ability to work with and manage outsourced operations and maintenance service providers.
This is a great opportunity to learn and to build upon your engineering knowledge and to gain real commercial experience working within a partner and consortium environment. Ideally you will be degree qualified in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and be working towards or be a fully Chartered Engineer.
As a small business you will need to be flexible with a dynamic and driven personality and a strong work ethic, willing to travel and go the extra mile to get the job done. In return you can expect to be well rewarded and given a great opportunity to learn, develop and gain commercial and project skills that will round off you engineering capability.
The role is office based in London, but will require travel to asset sites throughout the UK and Europe. Full eligibility to work in the UK is required.
