My client is a well established food manufacturing business with a reputation for quality and operational excellence. They are looking for a Site Engineering Manager to provide World Class engineering support to the Site.
Graduate or NCQ4 equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering, or relevant HNC / HND.
Engineering Management experience within a food manufacturing environment (3 years minimum).
Experience of coaching, mentoring and developing successful engineering teams & implementing cultural change.
Formal training and competence as defined by IOSH, NEBOSH.
CAPEX budget management and control.
Project Management experience.
Evidence of Continuous Improvement activities and World Class Manufacturing techniques.
Good working knowledge of CMMS.
Apprentice trained engineer, ideally electrically biased.
Practical electrical engineering experience including legislation.
Previous experience of control engineering preferable.
Member of the Site Leadership Team.
To develop the engineering function on site to ensure continuity of production and maximum efficiency at all times working within current legislative requirements.
To be proactive in identifying and recommending areas of improvement to achieve the necessary continuity and efficiency of production.
Ensure that all production equipment is maintained and repaired to meet all customer demands.
To maintain and develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance System to avoid breakdowns and ensure a smooth production operation.
Assist with breakdown resolutions.
Efficiently manage the engineering department and contractors.
Costing, recommending, implementing and controlling the implementation of major engineering projects.
Prepare and obtain approval for equipment / building maintenance and capital projects budgets and control budget costs throughout the year.
Recruit, train and develop staff to improve their skills and to develop experience in craft practice and techniques, keeping abreast of modern maintenance techniques.
Handle any disciplinary or grievance issues in accordance with procedure
