Mechanical Maintenance Engineer required near Preston, £25-30,000|
A great opportunity for a qualified engineer with a mechanical bias to progress their career within a forward thinking, market leading FMCG company. Reporting into the engineering manager you will work on a rotating shift pattern Monday-Friday 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm.
The business has experienced an exciting period of growth leading to expansion of the engineering department in order to support an on-going increase in orders. They work with a number of leading retailers and have further plans for expansion over the coming years.
The role of Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will see you assessing project requirements, problem solving and undertaking diagnostics as well as providing hands on support. The successful applicant will also require experience in the following areas:
• Machinery such as multi-vac, wrapping machines, overhead lines and conveyors
• Prompt and efficient resolution of breakdowns within pressured time scales
• Working as part of a team across shifts
• Simplifying and speeding up of changeovers of packing line equipment
• Providing technical advice and hands on support
To succeed you will need Mechanical engineering qualifications, such as NVQ level 3 in engineering and minimum of City and Guilds or ONC. or equivalent as well as previous experience in a related industry.
