Job Summary
The Design, Planning, Economics group of AECOM is actively seeking a highly organized Planning Project Assistant for immediate employment in our Planning Group in the Arlington, VA office. The Planning Project Assistant will support multi-disciplinary planning projects for community, environmental, and military installations.

The Design, Planning and Economics studio, part of the Building Places business line, is dedicated to excellence and integrated design solutions . With a range of expertise from strategy through project realization, the connections we make among people and places provide new insight to better outcomes for clients and communities. Better outcomes grow economies, protect natural systems, conserve natural resources, make societies more equitable and make people healthier and happier. Our expertise includes master planning, urban planning, economic and development planning, landscape architecture, architecture, interiors, workplace strategy, and building engineering . Our B P team is leading the industry with visionary and forward-thinking projects such as the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA; Liberty Park at the World Trade Center, New York, NY; the Lower Manhattan Coastal Resilience (Big U), NY; and the LA 2024 Olympic bid.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide production support in the preparation of master planning documents and deliverables to clients
  • Provide graphic and formatting report skills in development phases of the project production
  • Prepare materials for project meetings and workshops including presentations, agendas, prints, and gather all necessary supplies
  • Conduct quality control reviews of all documents submitted to clients for consistency and accuracy
  • Coordinate, setup, and organize meetings
  • Maintain planning group's overall staffing schedule and proactively manage submittals to help ensure appropriate staff and resources are available
  • Assist with on-boarding process for new hires
  • Manage planning group's office equipment
  • Arrange travel for meeting and workshops
  • Draft document meeting minutes and action items during project calls and meetings
  • Provide research support during data collection phase of projects

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite required
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite required
  • Detail oriented and able to closely follow instructions and direction
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage priorities effectively
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference given to candidates demonstrating above average skills using InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and ArcGIS
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance preferred
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency
  • Preference given to those with a consultative, service oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills
