About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Manager, Environmental Planning for immediate employment in the Honolulu, Hawaii office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead major NEPA projects for DoD and Federal agencies
  • Lead major EIS projects and environmental permitting for state, city and county
  • Lead and provide environmental planning services to private developers
  • Coordination with Government (Federal, State, City and County) agencies
  • Manage clients, teams and projects with up to $20M contract value and up to $5M in annual revenue
  • Subject matter expert in Environmental Planning and acts as a regional expert and resource to the Pacific area
  • Work with existing clients and pursue new business/development opportunities in the environmental market area
  • Train and mentor junior planners and scientists
  • Process improvement of existing environmental process and procedures

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or Studies, Planning, Natural Resource Management or related field.
  • 15 years of relevant professional experience in environmental planning
  • Experience with environmental planning and permitting for the DOD and Federal agencies.
  • Led a major NEPA effort (EIS), with a demonstrated proficiency in applying NEPA to projects.
  • Experience in marketing and business development in pursuit of new projects and clients
  • Knowledge and experience in preparing Hawaii environmental review and permitting documentation.
  • Demonstrated project management and client development experience in the environmental planning field
  • Project and contract management
  • Cost estimating and setting of reserves
  • Negotiations with regulators
  • Interaction with local officials and interested parties
  • Technical writing, oral presentations and working with planning/evaluation, design and construction teams Experience with preparation of scopes of work, project budgeting, scheduling, and business/development
  • Experience with proposal development, client interactions and established client relations
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Environmental Science or Studies, Planning, Natural Resource Management or related field
  • Experience with HRS 343 environmental planning for State of Hawaii agencies
  • Secret Security Clearance
  • Professional Certification
