SENIOR SYSTEM ARCHITECT|
BASED CAMBRIDGE - EXCELLENT SALARY AND PACKAGE
Based in Cambridge, Edgar Stewart's client is an integral R+D and production facility for one of the world's largest telecoms manufacturing businesses. Following a recent acquisition, they now need to make the key hire of a Senior Systems Architect.
Role and Responsibilities:
In addition to developing and evaluating software solutions for new SoC's, as Senior System Architect, you will also be responsible for:
The technology Roadmap, Software Architecture, Development Support for specific module (ARM64 SoC specific)
Collaborating with Open source development to support HiSilicon through the specific module
Enable and facilitate linux kernel up-streaming
Work with the internal software and hardware team to improve the efficiency of software ecosystem
The right candidate for this role will possess a Bs/Ms/BE in computer Science or similar with significant experience in software development on Linux platforms. You will also ideally have domain expertise in Network/Security/Virtualization and with:
Strong hands-on experience on programming on Linux kernel for server or network or mobile product domains
Handson experience in a specific driver/subsystem development in linux kernel.
Good understanding of overall Linux kernel architecture
Experience in upstreaming, open source development tools and collaboration methods (such as git, bugzilla, mailing list, open source licensing etc)
Furthermore, you must be able to exhibit guru-level software development expertise and architectural experience. The expertise should be in any one or more of the following areas:
1. System software for ARM platforms on Linux (strong experience in platforms like mips/ppc/x86 also can apply)
2. BSP and Driver development (Linux 2.6 or later preferred)
3. Network/PCIe/Storage subsystems.
4. Virtualization (KVM, Qemu, Xen etc)
5. Compilers (gcc/LLVM or similar)
6. File systems and Distributed fs
7. Performance (Bandwidth and system performance)
8. OS Hardening (Security)
9. Kernel Debugging (including low level drivers/performance etc)
10. Technologies like Docker, Open Stack, OpenNFV, storage technologies etc
11. Multicore - Multi processing
12. Kernel programming for any other specific subsystem/kernel features
