ISP Service Operations Workspace Analyst Including Workspace Project

Project Analyst
37 hours per week (various posts)
6 month temporary contract

The IT Service requires a number of staff to undertake analysis and IT service engagement tasks for the council's Workspace Project.

The Workspace Project is a cross department deployment of a new desktop platform for the majority of Council employees and we require staff to work closely with service departments to understand their software and hardware requirements prior to rolling out the new desktop technology.

You will work alongside the Service Operations technical teams to assess staff IT readiness for migration to the new environment, working closely with teams of staff from the service departments to undertake a comprehensive assessment of their IT and provide excellent customer service in assisting with resolving any practical issues.

It would be desirable if you have a full current driving licence.

Key Skills and Duties are:

• Good interpersonal communication skills: will be working closely with Service Ambassadors, the Workspace Team and IT Professionals
• Good written communication skills: will need to provide reports, listings, email communications etc.
• Good organisational skills: will be working with several groups of individuals and will need to ensure that all strands are managed carefully
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, to be able to provide low-level technical assistance to Ambassadors if required

Key purpose of role:
Working in the Information Services - Planning and Administration team to work with customers to develop business requirements, analyse business problems, develop collaborative solutions and manage the full project delivery lifecycle and ensure the successful project implementation.

Develop innovative solutions to solve business problems and identify opportunities to drive efficiencies across the Council.

Deliver excellent customer service.

Main Responsibilities of Post:
Work with customers and other IT teams to analyse business problems and identify appropriate solutions.

Develop comprehensive and effective business requirement documentation.

Manage the full project lifecycle to ensure successful project implementation.

Follow IT Services programme and project management methodology and standards.

Support the continuous development and enhancement of the service, and ensure that customer care and service excellence are established as core values.

Follow service management processes to ensure consistency and effectiveness of the service and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Use agreed IT service management tools to accurately capture data relating to ITIL processes. Ensure service related documentation is accurate and relevant.

Collaborate with colleagues to identify and investigate problems in systems and services throughout the organisation. Assist with the implementation of remedies and preventative measures.

Maintain an understanding of advances in the relevant technology environment and be able to deliver expert advice while looking at ways that new technology can be implemented to deliver service improvements.

Where required, supervise specialist external technical consultancy.

Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with all colleagues and with end users. Provide specialist guidance and advice to less experienced colleagues to ensure best use is made of available assets, and to maintain or improve service delivery.

Manage the access to highly confidential, personal, financial, political and commercially sensitive information; to ensure compliance with appropriate legislation e.g. DPA, FOI, Child Protection Act, etc, the unauthorised disclosure of which would prejudice the interests of the Council.

Ensure compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and guidelines.

Responsible for assets, equipment and materials within the ICT service undertaking.

To carry out any other duties as required, which are reasonable in terms of the nature and level of the post.

Deputise for the Senior ISP or line manager as required.

Working Hours
9am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday

Paying £9.03 per hour PAYE
£11.24 Via LTD
