My client, is a leading UK networking managed services provider that offers a range of Network and Cloud services designed to support organisations in their journey from traditional infrastructure to the Cloud and hybrid combinations in between.
The successful candidate will assist the department with the development of new and the enhancement of existing products. the Product Development Department are responsible for developing new products that enhance the service portfolio of the company. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated and technology savvy individual wanting to build a career in the IT sector.
Technical experience in a commercial environment in all areas of our business is not necessarily a pre-requisite if the right candidate can demonstrate a solid technical foundation and the desire and ability to learn.
Duties will include but are not restricted to the following:
Assisting Product Developers in the development of new products and services in all areas of our business (Voice, Network, Infrastructure, Applications, Cloud and Hybrid Cloud Services).
Working with Product Managers to understand new product requirements.
Learning new technologies and developing existing skill sets.
Working on changes to existing products.
Investigating and identifying solutions to technical problems
Providing support, training, and documentation for the delivery of new products and services.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
The ideal candidate will have a good level of technical knowledge and have experience with a variety of different technologies.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
A good knowledge of Windows Server OS
Familiarity with Linux (or Unix) as a minimum
Experience with scripting or programming - powershell
Familiarity with the mainstream virtualisation technologies - mostly on VMWare - do builds
Experience with at least one virtualisation technology
At least a basic level of networking knowledge
Some voice or unified communications knowledge
Familiarity and some experience with Cloud Services
Other desirable knowledge and experience would be:
Familiarity and experience with database technologies
Some understanding of Active Directory
Some understanding of web services
