Leading off-highway vehicle manufacturer is looking to recruit a Principal Design Engineer in Staffordshire. As a result of continued business success and increasing worldwide demand for our Client's machines, we are seeking a Principal Engineer who will be involved in all aspects of the operator enclosures in products worldwide, working closely with the machine business units throughout the group, manufacturing, purchasing, key suppliers and industrial design.|
The candidate will have a strong engineering background, possessing a Degree/HND or equivalent experience. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment, flexibility and enthusiasm as well as a sense of urgency, ownership of projects and a good awareness of off highway products. The individual must be able to manage teams, keen to help develop young talent and have a proven track record of delivering projects on time & within budget.
The ability to communicate clearly, across all levels is a pre-requisite. Excellent knowledge of off highway / automotive products specifically operator environments and a working knowledge of engineering systems would be preferable but training will be provided where required.
The ideal candidate must be organised, enthusiastic, self-starter with good problem solving skills and able to work on their own or in a team. The position is also an excellent opportunity for further development and for that person looking to further their career and be a key member of the groups' succession plans.
New product introduction (concept to launch), creating timing plans, writing / developing and validating engineering specifications.
The individual must have good experience in one or more of the following areas, plastic mouldings (specifically interior trim), large pressings, castings & metal fabrications / protective structures.
3D CAD system operation (NX preferable) to conduct design studies and concept work.
Simultaneous Engineering: Design for assembly manufacture, and service.
Work with purchasing to identify suitable suppliers and optimise tooling and piece cost.
Failure investigation and analysis, 8D.
Identifies and implements cost reduction opportunities.
Present data / design / project progress to all levels.
Generation / completion of DFMEA, DVPSOR, change documentation and drawings.
Supervision and control of output from team members.
Coordination of JCB Group engineering resources as required.
Developing young talent.
Manage / Develop India Design Centre resources.
