ATA Recruitment is currently working with a privately owned manufacturer of construction products. The company are a fast paced manufacturing business producing thousands of products per week and are one of the largest manufacturers of their kind in the UK. They currently employ close to 200 people.
The company turnover currently stands at circa £20 million and growing. They have recently invested heavily into the site with new machinery to support their continued growth plan. Due to their growth they can offer excellent career prospects for the right individuals.
You will report directly to the company MD who has been in the industry for close to 30 years. You will oversee a team of x1 Quality Supervisor and x2 Quality inspectors.

The role of Quality Manager will involve:
Overseeing a team of x1 Quality Supervisor and x2 Quality inspectors making sure they all have the same goals and vision for the department.
Getting the Operators on board with what that Quality team want to achieve and how they will go about doing this.
Identifying training requirements for both the Quality Inspectors and the Operators on the shop floor in order to improve the quality of products.
70% shop floor based role looking at production trends and patterns to identify quality issues and improvements that could be made.
Improving the current quality control inspection rate which currently stands at 80%.
Encourage root cause analysis problem solving and a 'right first time' mentality and analysing this when it is not happening.
Reducing customer complaints and working to reduce the number of customers on extra care measures (manager has to see the product before it leaves).
To be successful as a Quality Manager you will need:
Experience leading a quality team within a manufacturing environment.
Leadership qualities in order to drive that 'Right first time' mentality.
Confident, outgoing individual who is happy to liaise technically with individuals at all levels.
