Health & Safety Coordinator

The Company

This role is with a Facilities Management arm of a Global Construction company, with numerous contracts across the UK, specialising in the public sector. The contracts are currently growing rapidly and so the team is recruiting a number of roles to keep up with the rapid expansion.

The Job Role

The company is 18 months through a 10-year contract with a key client, with another 10-year contract 9 months underway and a further two 10-year contracts due to start in the next 12 months.

In this role you will be working closely with the existing SHE Coordinator, Gary. Gary has been with Kier for 7 years and has a great understanding of the construction and environmental side of the business, so we're looking for someone who will complement him.

The main skill we're looking for is someone with an understanding of Health and Safety for FM, the main aspects of the role will include accident reporting, client liaison, knowledge of health and safety regulations, carrying out audits, investigations and general risk management and mitigation.

The Ideal Candidate

I'm looking for someone with a good teamwork ethic who is able to work under pressure and 'muck in' when necessary, if you prefer to go it alone at a slow pace, this role probably isn't for you.

You will have a NEBOSH qualification ideally, or at a minimum IOSH, and you will really be able to sink your teeth into the legislation side of things. You will have a statistical mind-set to help with your risk mitigation activities and you will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You must already have an understanding of the legislation surrounding Facilities Management and evidence of working with this legislation.

If you are successful in this role you will receive a salary of £30,000 and a company car (Not a Ferrari unfortunately, but your choice of an Audi A1 or a Ford Focus B Max) plus 26 days' annual leave (not including bank holidays) and healthcare is available.
