We are seeking an entry-level Assistant Construction Engineer to join our Construction Services Group in Northern California, working in the levee industry. Working under close supervision, the Assistant Construction Engineer will provide project and administrative support to the Resident Engineer and Quality Manager.

Projects are primarily focused on levee construction and rehabilitation in the Sacramento Valley. Project values range from $1M to $100M and consist of various construction engineering strategies to improve levee and flood safety. The selected candidate will be working with an experienced team - this position provides an great opportunity for an entry-level engineer to gain valuable field experience!

Responsibilities include:
      • Performing field work
      • Conducting levee and infrastructure inspections
      • Preparing meeting minutes
      • RFI processing
      • Scheduling
      • Coordinating change management and tracking
      • Performing other duties as assigned
Please note that this position may require extended working hours, including the possibility of nights and weekends.

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
      • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or another directly-related field
      • Excellent time management skills
      • Effective oral and written communication skills
      • Ability to multi-task and self-manage tasks on a daily/weekly basis
      • Demonstrated interest in a career in Construction Engineering/Management
      • Computer proficiency, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs
      • Current, valid California Driver's license
      • Demonstrated experience/leadership in a team environment
Desired Qualifications :
      • EIT certification
      • Construction Engineering experience
      • Material testing experience
      • CAD experience
      • Quality Management experience
      • Inspection experience
      • Scheduling experience
      • IT Experience
The ability to work in the United States immediately is required. Local candidates are preferred and will be given priority consideration.
