Job Summary
The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, highly talented Bridge Engineer for immediate employment in the Bismarck, ND office. The appropriately qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate an established career in structural engineering with a focus on the design, construction and maintenance of bridges. This is a part-time variable position, meaning that work days and times will be determined on an as-need basis.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Evaluation and review of bridge designs, both conceptual and final, for appropriate design, construction feasibility, cost efficiency and innovative materials or construction techniques
  • Review and evaluation of bridge designs for life cycle costs and durability
  • Assist as needed in construction inspection of structures including bridges
  • Train and mentor junior staff performing bridge evaluations, designs and construction inspection
  • Participate in periodic bridge inspections and evaluations either as inspector or team leader
  • Prepare bridge inspection reports

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 10 years of experience in bridge design, construction and maintenance
  • Experience in the development and implementation of bridge maintenance programs
  • North Dakota Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications
  • 15 years of relevant work experience, including experience working in North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota
