About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. Job Summary
This position is located in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Engineer (Systems Engineer) performs various engineering/technical tasks on the DUF6 conversion project UF6 and HF acid systems to support operations. Displays technical competence on assignments and may be assisted by other team members.
  • Promotes responsible empowerment and the core values: safety, integrity, accountability, teamwork, excellence, and leadership.
  • Defines required surveillances, establishing their performance frequency and required start date (in conjunction with the Nuclear Safety Manager).
  • Maintains training and qualifications on assigned systems.
  • Identifies, manages, and controls the safety bases and configuration of assigned systems, structures, and components (SSCs).
  • Reviews and approves work on assigned systems.
  • Utilizes a graded approach in system and component design.
  • Ensures continued operational readiness of assigned systems.
  • Plans, develops, and coordinates implementation of design changes.
  • Identifies and makes the improvements/modifications that are needed.
  • Functions as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for system operation.
  • Ensures a list of potential suppliers of parts for assigned system(s) is established.
  • Ensures spare parts minimum/maximum inventories for SSCs in assigned system(s) are established.
  • Tracks and trends equipment failures for assigned system(s).
  • Determines critical design characteristics (CDCs) of equipment in assigned system(s).
  • Interfaces with operations management and provides periodic reports on the effectiveness of the maintenance program.
  • Interfaces with other disciplines, site personnel and/or outside organizations as required to meet project requirements.
  • Assists with system/component troubleshooting.
  • Functions as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Operation Procedures and Training.
  • Performs all other position related job duties as assigned or requested.
  • Working hours include 12 hour swing shift.
  • Provides technical support for plant operations in support of the Facility Manager.
  • Provides technical support to control room operations.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four-year accredited college or university.
  • 2 years of progressive work experience or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HF acid systems and/or nuclear experience preferred.
