Document Controller - Norwich, NR4. To start Monday 12th September 2016 for a 3 month + temporary contract. Hourly rate is upto £20.00 (Depending on experience and tax type). This is a full time position working 8.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday.

A leading main contractor construction company are looking for an experienced Document Controller to join their site team on a very large project in Norwich.

This role is to provide document control and general admin support to the project director and site team.

As a document controller you will send, receive, distribute and track documents. You will check for accuracy and record data about the documents and their storage.

The Document Controller has the responsibility for the following:
Reviewing, revising, recording, issuing and disposing of all forms of documents;
Correct handling of a wide variety of documentation including engineering and project management;
Ensuring changes and revisions are clearly implemented, recorded and issued;
Ensuring that relevant versions of applicable documents are available where they are needed;
Preventing unintended use of out-of-date documentation with older versions;
Handling of technical documents and client/contractor correspondence;
Ensuring that documents of external origin (e.g. data sheets, manufacturing drawings, general arrangements, meeting minutes, certification documents, test packages etc) are clearly recorded and retrievable;
Creation of templates for new forms of documentation including word-processing, spreadsheets and procedures among others;
Upkeep of the various registers employed in the Clients scope including the principal document register, technical query register, purchase order register, transmittal register;
Organisation of the private company server to ensure all documents are stored in their correct locations and older files placed in their respective historical folders;
Informing staff of these locations to ensure efficient retrieval if necessary;
Monitor deadlines for data and documentation information;
Create reports and contribute to project/ department meetings;
Answer telephones;
Open post and distribute/ file accordingly;
Organise and maintain office paperwork in a structured manner;
Maintain company registers;
Provide administration support
Procurement activities that might be applicable in this role;
Ensure company policies are applied and adhered to;

Education, Skills and Experience

Experienced Document Controller, who is proficient in Conject (BIW).

Previous Document Control and Office Administration experience - Accurate recording of document information is essential.
Capable of working under their own initiative with minimum supervision.
The ability to manage numerous projects at once and priorities.
Strong computer skills - experience of Microsoft Office software and Document Control systems
Familiarity with databases, technical documents and drawings are essential.
Strong organisational skills
