Our Client is a national building services company with a comprehensive expertise in all aspects of Mechanical and Electrical Building Services and Facilities Management

They are currently looking for an M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor to work out of their office in Birmingham.


Provide full financial and contractual control by co-ordinating the efforts of all parties involved in the execution of specified projects to budgeted cost and programme.
Ensure that all contract terms and conditions are complied with and manage or highlight situations likely to represent a risk to the business
Adherence to all Company Commercial procedures and maintenance of all contract related records.
Commercial input to vet documents and checking that all the necessary management approvals have been obtained.
Preparation of Estimates and Cost Plans and follow on involvement in the subsequent contract negotiations.
Ensure that any special commercial arrangements associated with a bid are in place prior to submission and management of such facilities post contract award.
Assist the Commercial Manager in arranging and undertaking project reviews and issue of associated reports
Provide complete, regular and timely internal reports to the Commercial Manager which covers design submissions, material management, site performance, key dates/actions, commercial situations and major issues

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have:

Mechanical and electrical bias
Sound knowledge of various forms of Conditions of Contract, dispute resolution processes and construction and contract law
Working knowledge of plant, equipment, materials and labour costs
Working knowledge of Health and Safety Management
Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A willingness to learn and develop both themselves and others
A driving licence

A problem solver, both with colleagues and clients alike
A relationship builder with excellent customer service skills
A pro-active self starter with effective decision making, planning and
organising skills
Self motivated, with a positive, can do attitude
