Morson International is pleased to offer this fantastic role on behalf of our client, who are currently seeking to recruit an Data Centre Engineer who will be based in Newbury UK on a Permanent basis.
Responsible for responding to service calls pertaining to cable and data related faults, provisions and Business As Usual (BAU) project works.
Candidates should have the following skills:
Knowledge and skills expertise of the following:
-Layer 1 and layer 2 troubleshooting on a Network, preferably within a Data Centre environment
-Good understanding of fibre (single mode and multimode) and Cat5/6/7 cabling
-Familiar with the setup and operation of Fluke Analysers and Cable Test equipment relevant to network fault finding and defect rectification.
-Expertise of working within 'Live' Customer site
-Expertise in the installation of Structured and Voice Cabling system
-Ability to locate and rectify faults on Structured Cabling systems, patching, switches, routers and serves at layer 1.
-Ability to work from construction drawings
-Demonstrate the ability to interface with customers with a professional and informative approach
-Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA R&S), Essential
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
-Supporting the 100% 'up time' requirement of the service, ensuring design and installation meets internal and client specifications and statutory requirements
-Ensure that positive relationships are maintained with the customer through efficient delivery of projects with a view to optimising future opportunities and profitability
-Ensure all works comply with clients standards and to meet and exceed customer expectations whilst ensuring adherence to vendor and manufacturer design guidelines.
Hours: Shift Pattern - 4 days on, 4 days off 12 Hour Shift
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 plus benefits
