Your role will be to work collaboratively with the service provider, workstream leads, internal SME's and where appropriate, 3rd party suppliers, to ensure the migration events are successful. There are multiple migration events which consist of business related groups of applications and services being moved at specific times and they will be involved in a number of these as a technical resource, providing relevant expertise, oversight and to some degree sanity checking of the activities being undertaken to accomplish this migration events.
Experience of performing this type of activity in previous roles is key, as is working with offshore support partners.'
To provide technical migration guidance during a fast-moving transition and transformation project. The incumbent will work within migration workstreams comprising multiple business applications, foundation technologies (AD, Exchange, etc), and should have a broad spread of knowledge and experience across:
*Servers & Storage
*Data Centre Networks
*Enterprise Applications (including SAP)
As a Technical Architect/Consultant you will:
*Use your expert knowledge to guide the migration activities through collaborative working with relevant suppliers, 3rd Parties and in-house SME's from technical planning through execution to post migration activities.
*Ensure any in-flight changes are accurately captured and documented.
*Provide technical guidance on testing (including performance).
*Work effectively with partner organisations and the wider BIS team, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are consulted and/or informed.
*Work within all relevant BIS governance frameworks.
*Actively support the Service Management team in ensuring maintained service levels during the transition period and the transformation of the service offering.
*Form an excellent, collaborative working relationship with key stakeholders throughout BIS and the wider business.
*Facilitate meetings and materials as required.
*Work with BIS Programme and Project Management to ensure all Project governance is adhered to.
*Expert knowledge of infrastructure, architecture and service provision to include the following technologies/areas (relevant to the role): ◦Enterprise Applications, including COTS, SAP and bespoke software. Infrastructure technologies, including Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, VMware, Citrix, HP Blades and Netapp SAN storage.
◦Knowledge of security best practice, with a clear understanding of risk management ◾Experience of working on projects/programmes being delivered by offshore resources
◾Excellent knowledge and understanding of a complex applications and technology infrastructure.
◾AA clear understanding of technical test requirements for infrastructure migration projects.
◾Have excellent relationship management skills.
◾Be able to work in a pressurised situation.
◾Happy working on your own initiative and as a team member when required.
◾Must be a team player with a strong emphasis on providing excellent customer service.
