Key purpose of the role
A Business Analyst is responsible for investigating and analysing business activities and processes with the aim of making them more efficient through business process re-engineering (BPR).
The role will provide support and guidance as part of a project team, designing new processes and procedures leading to transitions and/or transformation activity of new and existing accounts/opportunities. This role will play a significant role in the implementation of transformed processes delivered either via BPR or from IT system delivery.
Organise, plan and set targets for completion of work to high standards and use initiative and discretion to interpret and resolve issues to achieve the required results with guidance and advice from senior managers on serious issues/problems.
Provide clear and concise specialist advice and guidance, contributing to workshops and training sessions regarding business processes as appropriate.
Plan own workload and helps co-ordinate and prioritise work
Process complex and difficult tasks and check regular processing and overall completion of tasks.
Update Project Leads as required on progress and current work status of any project. Advising on staffing and systems issues.
Allocate and check work including verifying and approving payments or signing off correspondence. Provide guidance and direction to the Client providing on-the-job training or coordinating formal training sessions.
In depth and significant practical understanding of data management, including collection, processing, provision and analysis.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Visio and MS Project if required.
Experience of working within office systems/practices and providing effective flexible administrative support to various service areas.
Demonstrable evidence of organising and handling data sets, of turning data into information and of producing high quality reports in order to inform business decision making
Experience working in a local government or BPO environment
Knowledge and/or experience of business support/ administrative services
