Clinical & Information Systems Database Administrator***
£31,300 - £41,300pa + Outer London Weighting***Permanent***ASAP start***Based in Shirley, Croydon***

Our well established Public Sector client requires a Clinical & Information Systems Database Administrator to join their Business Intelligence team on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Data Visualisation Lead.

The position is based in Shirley, Croydon and will be a full time (37.5hr) position. The is free parking on site and numerous public transport routes available.

-The successful candidate will be expected to perform daily health checks of the systems, detect potential problems and escalate issues to suppliers and corporate ICT department.

-You will work closely with the network and corporate systems teams to overcome performance bottlenecks.

-The successful candidate will also manage the lifecycle and change management of the clinical and information systems ensuring there is version management and compliance to the change management procedures.

Specific duties will include, but will not be limited to:

*Ensure 24/7/365 availability of the Information Systems databases and web services. Proactively check for problems and conduct daily health checks.

*Optimise queries within the clinical and information systems. Proactive improve areas of poor performance.

*Implement and support system upgrades and BI development lifecycles.

*Advise on database design and maintenance strategies for all clinical and information systems.

*Liaise with supplier and other stakeholders to ensure that expert advice is heard and shared reducing subsequent issues.

*Ensure compliance the ICT Change Management Procedures including version management history to ensure system rollback to an exact point in time.

*Undertake evaluations of new and emerging technologies and make recommendations regarding their suitability and possible implementation

*Maintain and document systems in accordance with ITIL good practice.

*Liaise with suppliers to ensure that there is adequate storage space to support multiple test and developments environments for each system.

*Perform other duties as required by the Clinical and Information Systems Manager

*The post holder will assist in the provision of customer support, interfacing and maintaining business and Supplier relationships

*Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience plus additional specialist knowledge

*Evidence of professional development

*Relevant experience of hands on RDBMS administration in an enterprise environment

*Highly developed specialist database knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience
*Extensive evidence of experience with MSBI Stack

*The facilitation of a customer focussed culture within a team
