Our client, a global manufacturer is currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to be based at their production facility in South Elmsall.

The role would suit candidates who have previous experience in Mechanical Maintenance within a high speed manufacturing environment.

This is an initial 12-week contract which will be reviewed at this point.

Day shifts Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm & Friday 8am - 1pm

Job Description

Provide knowledge and experience in mechanical disciplines, and work with members of the Engineering and Management Teams to provide a cost effective and proactive maintenance and engineering service to the processing and production departments.

1. Responsible for trouble shooting and fault finding duties to maintain and enhance automated processes and machinery.

2. Responsible for a high level of problem solving, in particular to review more cost effective methods and adopting a longer-term vision to prevent problems occurring.

3. Continue to build an effective working relationship with Engineers and Management Teams, by providing technical advice, breakdown support and explore opportunities to make improvements to current work practices.

4. Develop and contribute in devising preventative maintenance plans for equipment to ensure that breakdowns can be minimised and efficiencies are maximised, and also ensure machinery is kept to a high standard.

5. Assist team leader by delivering clear concise reports involving engineering work and down time at end of shift.

6. Assist Team Leaders in the assessment of individual and departmental technical skills and competency levels against current roles and responsibilities. To identify developmental and training needs, and to offer advice on training solutions.

7. Contribute to the installing and commissioning of new machinery and ensure new working methods are communicated to the Engineering Team, and basic knowledge and skills are transferred to Operators.

Person Specification

• ONC in Mechanical Engineering.
• Worked within a high-speed, manufacturing environment.
• Good working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics systems.
• Turning, milling, grinding and welding (mig,tig,mma,and ali)
• IT Skills. Basic level of Competency in Microsoft word / excel. Numeracy skills
