Sales Director


- To promote Surge Protection Devices (SPD`s) and develop the business for continued growth, including existing business and new routes to market.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: - Other duties may be assigned.

Major areas of responsibility:
NA and increasing sales of the company's SPD products
NA sales strategies and setting targets
NA and develop new business

NA with R&D to develop new SPD products
NA project style business
NA with Customer service to help develop internal sales where needed

1a. Maintaining and increasing sales of the company's products -
Using existing customer database, visit all key accounts and identify sales requirements, build relationships with these customers and then seek out similar business opportunities.
NA sales strategies and setting targets -
Develop a sales strategy to ensure that we get the correct product in front of the correct people. Set targets according to market share and potential new products into both existing
customers and new business.
NA & Develop new business
Identify new routes to market and locate the potential customers within the new markets.

Using sales figures current and historical to identify further potential and any potential issues.(e.g. - dips in business caused by competitors pricing etc)
NA with R&D to develop new products
Using information from customers will lead to possible creation of new products, it would be expected that the sales manager would assist with pricing of these items to ensure a healthy margin and creating a demand creation.
NA project style business
Some customers will be using products in a project style manner, e.g.- regular call off an amount of product to complete a contract (house building for example). It would be expected that the sales manager would liaise with the purchaser of these products to ensure a smooth supply and more importantly a good forecast of product to allow manufacturing to supply within required timescales.
NA with Customer Service to help develop internal sales where needed
It would be expected of the Sales Manager to liaise with customer services to obtain information regarding potential sales opportunities and develop these alongside customer services. It would also be a requirement for the Sales Manager to implement potential sales incentives via Customer services (e.g. - regular phone calls to existing customers to check for top-up orders etc)

Electrical or Electronics degree / similar
