We are currently looking to recruit a PMO Manager on behalf of our clients who are a major Engineering company. This role is contract for six months and will be working from their offices in Newcastle. |
As a PMO Manager within Major Projects, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of complex offshore and onshore wind turbine service projects in the UK & Ireland.
The function will require PMO, project management, planning and process management competencies. The team is undergoing significant exciting change and the ideal candidate should be comfortable with working a dynamic environment and with working with the management team to shape future project delivery and embed best practice into everything we do.
What are my Responsibilities?
• Manage the Project Management Office, ensuring performance transparency and process excellence within our service projects:
o Own the demand/supply plan for Project Management and ensure external Project Managers are sourced, inducted and trained effectively and efficiently.
o Support the development of the Project Management community by mentoring and coaching, as well as aligning them with internal training resources and assisting with development planning.
o Own the internal Project Methodology and document set and drive improvements within it and related processes.
o Provide Project Governance within the project portfolio and associated management reporting.
o Own the IT systems related to project delivery and ensure that any necessary improvements are managed with the IT team as part of an approved roadmap.
o Own the Project Planning Manual for Major Projects, setting out the blueprint of how projects will be planned and maintained within Primavera and act as the interface to the internal planning team. Develop and maintain long term
Major Project schedules; work with Project Managers to establish robust project plans.
o Provide metrics on project performance and governance.
o Own the process blueprint for Major Projects, ensuring that processes are owned, documented, improved and updated.
o Manage and engage with stakeholders, build relationships within the UK and overseas to drive project success.
o Assist the PM to constantly strive to improve the operational delivery of your projects through KPIs and Continuous Improvement activities.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
• Experience (ideally 5 years+) in PMO management as part of a diverse projects organisation driving successful projects.
• Experience and ideally qualifications in P6.
• Project Management qualifications and experience an advantage.
• Strong Process Management experience (LEAN/6-Sigma training preferred).
• Preferred experience working in large scale Renewable or construction projects.
• Preferred experience working within CDM in the UK
