The Project Scheduler will be responsible for assisting the Programme Management Office in providing a range of essential scheduling and planning services across a wide range of projects and work packages, from bid stage through to completion. Reporting to the PMO Performance Manager, key responsibilities will include:

* Create and maintain resource and cost loaded project baseline schedules that align with all contractual key dates, deliverables and requirements
* Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in developing corrective actions
* Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending, earned value and schedule analysis on a periodic basis
* Participate in and facilitate project schedule reviews
* Generate weekly updates for allocated projects whilst tracking actual performance against actual work completed
* Manage schedule updates and cost benchmarking in collaboration with project teams
* Assist others in the preparation of high-quality project schedules assisting in the identification of inter-relationships, constraints and milestones within project schedules
* Perform schedule impact analysis for potential or likely project changes
* Undertake quality assurance reviews of project schedules prior to project implementation
* Produce scheduling reports for review at programme level.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following areas:

* An Engineering and / or Service background with a minimum of 2 years' experience (ideally gained within the Defence, Maritime, Energy or Infrastructure sectors)
* Track record and knowledge of using industry standard scheduling tools such as Primavera and MS Project
* An advanced qualification in an industry standard scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project (MSP)
* Ability to establish sustainable relationships with internal and external customers
* Ability to influence and direct project and service stakeholders
* Excellent report writing skills
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car with the ability to travel and attend off-site meetings as appropriate

Desirable Skills:

* An understanding of the life-cycle of complex IT Projects and Services
* Exposure to project management methodologies including APM BoK, PRINCE 2 and ITIL Service Management
* An understanding of TickIT and TickITPlus quality requirements
