Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), a market leader and technology innovator, is seeking talented professionals to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers. The Radio Frequency Intelligence Systems business unit is focused on providing Mission Operation Centers for critical Department of Defense systems along with computational capabilities for signals detections and analysis. This business unit also provides customers with capabilities in critical system Command and Control (C2) systems and critical 24/7 mission monitoring systems.

GDMS has an opening for a Complex System Integration & Test Engineer to join our Santa Clara, CA team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various GDMS and client technologies. Key Responsibilities

Complex System Integration & Test Engineers analyze, design, develop and test GDMS systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort. Additional Responsibilities include:
  • Developing requirements
  • Performing mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk analysis
  • Tracking requirements from inception through validation on a delivered system
  • Preparing specifications for GDMS operating systems to ensure designs meet applicable security specifications
  • Providing Integration and Test of a system to ensure requirements are met

These individuals may also be asked to:
  • Work with DOORS for requirements capture and tracking
  • Document requirements validation plans and procedures
  • Provide accreditation/certification evaluation and test support

Additional Responsibilities
  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs.
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMS services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance GDMS technology.

The Complex System Integration & Test Engineer position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or a specialized area, field and at least five to eight years of related work experience, or the equivalent are eligible. Applicants with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and a minimum of three to five years of related experience are also eligible.

Department of Defense active TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
