PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS BASED IN MANCHESTER |
KBR (Kellogg Brown & Root) is a global technology, engineering, procurement and construction company serving the hydrocarbons and government services industries. For over a century, it has been a company that customers turn to for their most challenging assignments.
With operations in 40 countries, KBR has more than 25,000 people delivering services to customers in over 70 countries. Together they represent an unmatched reservoir of talent and experience in a wide range of markets. KBR's first London office opened in 1933 and today, the UK is home to KBR's largest operations centre worldwide.
KBR is respected as a world leader in Programme Management, Enterprise/Portfolio Management, large scale Project Management, Asset/Operations Management and long term/complex Services Delivery.
Building on the decision to open a regional office in Manchester, KBR wishes to appoint an enthusiastic and results-oriented Business Development Director. This opportunity will continue the successful growth of KBR in the UK, in conjunction with the Government's agenda for growth across the North of England. Key market sectors include, but are not limited to: energy, infrastructure, and Government.
Reporting to the Regional Director in the North, the successful applicant will take the lead responsibility for developing specific opportunities in Programme and Project Management, support services and engineering. The task will be to develop a pipeline of opportunity by building relationships with current and prospective clients, gaining an in-depth understanding of their development needs, and positioning KBR to match their requirements. For each specific pursuit, the Business Development Director will work with a designated Bid Director/Manager and Project Director/Manager to take opportunities from initial identification through to contract award. The appointment will be within the Government Services EMEA Business unit but the candidate will be expected to interface with all of KBR's business units.
Opportunities for growth will also include acquisition targets that are aligned to the strategic objectives of the Business unit.
The primary target market will be the North of the UK but, depending on how the company's overall strategy develops, this may extend nationally or to other locations in the Europe/Africa/Middle East region. The ability to travel throughout the UK and overseas will therefore be required.
