My client are looking for a CAD Technician to work out of their Manchester office. This role will be working on multiple energy projects. |
Relevant previous experience and knowledge of AutoCAd Plant 3D
Based in the Manchester, Oxford Road Office of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff the successful candidate will work within the Energy discipline on a wide range of projects across many market sectors including Thermal, Nuclear and Renewable generation together with Oil and Gas as well as Electricity Networks.
Working as part of a large engineering group the role requires the ability to use AutoCAD software to prepare detailed engineering piping drawings including PFD’s, P&ID’s, plot plans and layouts, pipe supports and isometrics in line with the clients requirements. Further to this the role also includes preparing 2D and 3D plant layouts in line with the requirements of the engineering project team.
The ability to create tasks and work breakdown structures in order to estimate the associated man-hours to complete packages of work for projects and tender documentation to support the sales team is desirable to the role.
Creates and modifies detail drawings using 2D/3D AutoCAD software packages based on information supplied by engineers and designers. Must be a self- starter and proficient in the use of AutoCAD Plant 3D NA have the ability to develop, layouts, labelling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts.
Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems
Liaise with the design teams as necessary to coordinate BIM Model design processes and production
Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required.
Assists with establishing, maintaining and enforcing the use of proper CAD standards and procedures across the business.
The role will require working alone and as part of a large cross disciplinary team so the successful candidate should be self-motivated and also a strong communicator who works well with others.
Qualifications and Work Experience
City & Guilds 4351 AutoCAD levels 2 & 3 (2D&3D) or equivalent qualification as a minimum.
Excellent CAD skills, including considerable experience using AutoCAD Software and AutoCAD Plant 3D
At least 5 Years proven industry experience in either FEED and/or detailed design on Energy projects.
Autodesk AutoCAD certified user certification
An Engineering qualification is not essential but would be advantageous
