As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have an exciting opportunity available for a Quality Control Team Lead to join our motivated and highly skilled team.

Reporting to the Quality Manager and assisting in all aspects of the day to day running of Quality Control. To act up in their absence across the whole range of their duties as directed.
l You will be a highly motivated self-starter, and a dedicated team member who is customer focused, detail orientated. You will possess good written and communication skills. You may be expected to travel on company business as part of your duties to both UK and overseas.
l Develops relationships with stakeholders across the organization to include, Purchasing / Supply Chain, Operations, Program and Engineering
l Provide support for development and implementation programme quality plans, projects, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensuring that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyses and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
l Will fully support the business in the successful development and launch of New Products in line with Quality Assurance requirements, as well as engineering change management of supplied components. To work with suppliers to achieve quality, cost, innovation, delivery and management targets.

Specifically this role is responsible for:

l Feedback quality problems to the production team and find a solution to improve quality level.
l Ensure the effective and efficient operation of team to provide quality improvement leadership.
l Manage special projects for production support activities.
l Conduct customer meeting and follow up improvement activities.
l Produce training materials and curriculum for team members as appropriate.
l Participate in forward planning activities.
l Report quality issues and urgency to the manager.
l Stand in while engineers are out of their duties and substitute their work or allocate duties to other engineers in section.
l Administer and control practices in the area of safety, human relations, quality, cost, organisation, and delivery targets for respective areas.
l Execute and implement quality activities in compliance with company goal.
l Ensure team members comply with policies and procedures.
l Initiate and complete reports tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other administrative tasks as required.
l Encourage continuous improvement activities (Process, Facilities, Man, and Materials).
l Build and maintain good working relationships with team members and management.
l Support gate reviews to ensure robust delivery of NPI programmes
l Provide support on technical issues with suppliers
l Review First Article Reports, along with APQP / PPAP packs to ensure design robustness & reliability targets are achieved
l Generate & provide weekly / monthly progress reports
Aerospace experience
l Managing direct reports and in leading teams
l Strong quality and continuous improvement background gained within medium to high volume manufacturing ideally operating within a POA and DOA environment.
l Problem Solving Skills with in an engineering environment - preferably 8D / DMAIC
l Continuous Improvement and 5S Mindset
l Able to read, understand and interpret engineering information
l Effective communicator at all levels
l Managing direct reports and leading teams
l IT literate - Effective use of Microsoft Office software; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access
